New England ...... Ravenna

I think it's so funny that Leo, aged 13, as Italian as they come (did you see him after the rugby match???) has tickets to go and see Billy Bragg with his Dad - it cracks me up - and it is something I never thought I'd see!!

Non c'è due senza tre

Having a stake in 3 of the Six Nations rugby teams I can be pretty certain that on any one day of the Six Nations Tournament one of my teams will win - as a kid growing up with a Welsh father and all Welsh relatives you can imagine that we all shouted for Wales (as I still do) but since I lived the first 23 years of my life in England and consider myself, well, English I can also shout for England (as I do) and then of course there's the fact that we live in Italy, my kids are Italian and on Thursday for the celebrations of 150 years of the Italian Constitution we had (and still have) an Italian flag flying from our balcony I feel I have a right to shout for Italy too (as I do). So how is it that yesterday all 3 of my teams lost!!!!!!! W shall just have to make the most of the fact that we were there last weekend when Italy beat France in Rome - the match was great just like the whole weekend ......

And here is a video of the final moments of the game - it was touch and go whether France would come back and reclaim the win - but they didn't - once you get past the rugby bit you will see how the stadium just explodes (ps I am NOT the one respnsible for the squealing you can hear - it was some por Italian woman who I am surprised made it to the end of the match......talk about excited!!!!)

A girl (of 44!) who can't say no......

Most blokes like it if their women 'can't say no' right?? - mine doesn't - I think it pisses him off a little..........I seem to do it all the time - working from home was supposed to simplify life - and when I am only translating it does just that but .....I still have the kiddies in the afternoon (who I love teaching and probably the human contact thing is good after hours on the computer) but now I have also found myself in one of those 'I just can't say no' situations - a school I have taught at for 7 years, the teachers are personal friends of mine and while I was able to ditch all the other schools I just haven't been able to ditch them - so, now teaching in school, teaching the kiddies and trying to convince the agencies that I am a full time translator (as opposed to a translator who takes work on and ends up working in the night to get it done so she can put her teacher's cap on in the morning!!) is no easy feat - but I try.....we need this weekend (the boys are away) - I have been working mad hours - I have been poorly - the children have been sucking the life out of me (nothing major but one has tests at shcool, needs help/reassurance etc, etc, the other has love life/social life problems and has gone away with school for a week to Malta - so sort out stuff to take, money, documents etc - all normal stuff but you know what it's like) - so I said no to a job last night - I am making progress and he was amazed!!!
